Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Design and deliver high-quality, engaging tennis instruction for private lessons, semi-private lessons, and group clinics catering to a wide spectrum of ages and ability levels, from toddlers to seniors.

  • Foster a positive, energetic, and inclusive learning environment that encourages sportsmanship, builds confidence, and cultivates a genuine love for the game.
  • Effectively manage group and court dynamics to ensure all participants are actively engaged, challenged appropriately, and receiving adequate individual attention.
  • Organize, promote, and skillfully execute a diverse calendar of tennis programming, including round robins, social mixers, competitive tournaments, and junior summer camps.

  • Manage administrative duties associated with the role, such as lesson booking, court reservations, attendance tracking, and processing client billing through the club's software system.
  • Contribute to the marketing and promotion of tennis programs, clinics, and events to drive participation, increase revenue, and grow the tennis community.
  • Ensure the tennis courts and surrounding facilities are meticulously maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and playability, reporting any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Tennis or Head Professional on program development, strategic initiatives, and planning for the tennis department.
  • Conduct introductory tennis sessions and orientations for new members to familiarize them with the facilities, staff, and program offerings.
  • Provide support for club-wide events and functions that may or may not be directly related to tennis, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Professional Certification: Active certification from a recognized body such as USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) or PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) is typically required.
  • Advanced Playing Ability: A strong, demonstrable playing ability (often benchmarked at a 4.5 NTRP level or higher) is essential for credibility and effective on-court demonstrations.

Experience Requirements
