Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Expertly operate, monitor, and maintain digital cinema projection systems (e.g., Barco, Christie, NEC) and associated media servers to ensure flawless playback.
- Manage the Theatre Management System (TMS) to ingest digital content, build comprehensive show playlists, and accurately schedule all feature films, trailers, and advertisements.

- Conduct audio system checks and calibration for various formats (e.g., 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos), ensuring sound is clear, correctly channeled, and at the appropriate volume level.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical emergencies with projection, audio, or automation systems in real-time, working quickly to minimize show interruptions and guest impact.
- Securely receive, ingest, and manage Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) and their corresponding Key Delivery Messages (KDMs), ensuring all content is unlocked and ready for its scheduled showtime.
- Execute preventative maintenance schedules on all booth equipment, including cleaning lenses, changing filters, and monitoring projector lamp life to prevent failures.
- Diligently monitor shows in progress from the projection booth or via remote systems to identify and correct any on-screen anomalies or audio-visual discrepancies.
- Configure and test equipment for alternative content, such as live satellite broadcasts, 3D presentations, and private screening events, ensuring all unique technical requirements are met.
- Maintain a detailed and accurate log of all operational activities, including maintenance performed, technical faults, lamp usage, and show reports for management review.
- Collaborate with film distributors and technical support services to troubleshoot content delivery or KDM issues that may arise.
- Adjust and align projection and audio settings to meet specific film distributor requirements or to optimize the presentation for different types of content.
- Ensure the complete automation of show schedules, from house lighting and masking adjustments to projector and sound system startups, functions correctly.
- Perform firmware and software updates on projection systems, servers, and audio processors as directed by manufacturers and the technical management team.
- Manage the physical and digital media library, ensuring content is correctly labeled, stored, and prepared for transfer or deletion according to studio guidelines.
Secondary Functions
