Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design, implement, and adapt a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of toddlers (ages 1-3).
- Establish and maintain a safe, clean, healthy, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and learning through play.
- Foster positive and supportive relationships with each child, providing comfort, guidance, and a nurturing atmosphere to build trust and security.
- Observe, assess, and document individual children's progress, developmental milestones, and learning patterns, using tools like portfolios and anecdotal records.
- Facilitate the development of self-help skills, patiently guiding toddlers through potty training, hand washing, dressing, and independent feeding.
- Plan and lead a rich variety of activities, including art, music, movement, story time, and sensory exploration, to promote holistic development.
- Implement positive guidance and classroom management techniques consistent with the center's philosophy to support pro-social behavior.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians through daily reports, parent-teacher conferences, newsletters, and informal check-ins.
- Ensure the absolute health and safety of all children by consistently adhering to all licensing regulations, sanitation procedures, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with co-teachers and support staff to create a cohesive, respectful, and effective teaching team that provides consistent care.
- Prepare, arrange, and maintain classroom materials and learning centers to align with weekly and monthly lesson plans and developmental goals.
