Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately input and confirm trade details into proprietary and third-party risk management systems in real-time, ensuring all economic terms are captured without error.
- Proactively manage the full post-execution trade lifecycle, from allocation and confirmation through to settlement, identifying and resolving any breaks or fails.
- Perform rigorous daily reconciliation of trading positions, P&L (Profit and Loss), and cash balances against broker statements and clearinghouse records.
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for the trading desk, liaising effectively with traders, brokers, custodians, and internal operations teams to resolve queries and discrepancies.
- Continuously monitor real-time market data feeds, system connectivity, and algorithmic trading performance, immediately flagging any anomalies to the desk and IT support.
- Generate, validate, and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly P&L reports, providing detailed attribution and commentary on performance drivers to traders and management.
- Prepare comprehensive pre-market and end-of-day reports summarizing market conditions, trading volumes, risk exposures, and overall desk performance.
- Assist traders with gathering and analyzing market data, economic news, and research to support the development and refinement of trading strategies.
- Ensure all trading activities are conducted in strict adherence to internal risk limits, compliance policies, and external regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, Dodd-Frank).
- Maintain and manage static and reference data within trading systems, including the setup of new securities, financial instruments, and counterparty information.
- Diligently track and manage the impact of corporate actions (dividends, stock splits, mergers) on the desk's positions, ensuring correct adjustments are made.
- Coordinate with internal technology teams to troubleshoot system issues, participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for new software, and provide feedback for system enhancements.
- Handle the onboarding process for new brokers and counterparties, which includes completing the necessary due diligence and ensuring proper system setup.
- Verify and confirm trade details directly with counterparties via phone, email, or confirmation platforms to mitigate operational and settlement risk.
- Monitor the health and performance of the desk's algorithmic trading strategies, escalating any unexpected behavior or performance degradation to quant and tech teams.
- Assist in preparing presentations, market commentary, and performance materials for internal strategy meetings and client-facing reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: Mastery of complex formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation, and VBA macros for analysis and process automation.
- Trade Lifecycle Knowledge: A strong, demonstrable understanding of the end-to-end trade lifecycle across various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX).
