Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design and develop engaging training materials, including facilitator guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and presentation decks.
  • Assist in the creation and development of interactive eLearning modules and micro-learning content using industry-standard authoring tools like Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of our Learning Management System (LMS), including uploading courses, managing user enrollments, and pulling completion reports.
  • Co-facilitate virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, and webinars alongside senior L&D team members, gaining valuable presentation and facilitation experience.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments by assisting with surveys, interviews, and focus groups to identify critical knowledge and skill gaps across departments.
  • Update and revise existing training programs and materials to ensure they remain current, accurate, and aligned with evolving business needs and industry best practices.
  • Develop engaging learning activities, case studies, simulations, and gamification elements to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Create and edit multimedia learning assets, such as training videos, instructional screencasts, and educational podcasts, to support a blended learning strategy.
  • Coordinate the logistics for training events, which includes scheduling sessions, booking venues (virtual or physical), managing participant invitations, and preparing necessary resources.
  • Gather, analyze, and summarize feedback from training participants using post-session surveys and evaluation forms to measure satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Research emerging trends, tools, and best practices in instructional design, adult learning theory, and educational technology to contribute innovative ideas to the team.
  • Support the employee onboarding process by preparing new hire orientation materials and assisting in the delivery of foundational training sessions.
  • Track and report on key training metrics and KPIs, such as learner engagement, completion rates, and assessment scores, to help demonstrate the value of L&D initiatives.
  • Participate actively in project meetings for new learning and development programs, providing input and support from an intern's perspective.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on training content and deliverables to ensure they are free of errors and meet our high standards for quality and effectiveness.
  • Assist in crafting and distributing internal communications to effectively market and promote upcoming training opportunities to employees.
  • Translate complex business processes or technical information into clear, concise, and easily digestible learning content suitable for a diverse audience.
  • Support the evaluation of training effectiveness by helping to analyze post-training performance data and its correlation with business impact.
  • Help maintain a centralized digital repository of all training resources, documentation, and standard operating procedures for the L&D team.
  • Manage and update content on internal knowledge-sharing platforms, such as the company intranet or wiki, to ensure information is accessible and current.

Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations and Excel for data tracking.
  • Familiarity with or a strong desire to learn eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) or Adobe Captivate.
  • Basic understanding of Learning Management System (LMS) administration and functionality.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and foundational instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).
  • Experience with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Express for creating visually appealing training materials.
  • Basic video and audio editing skills using tools like Camtasia, Vyond, or Audacity is a significant plus.
  • Competence in using virtual classroom and meeting platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Webex.
