Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Consult with clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to understand their travel needs, preferences, budget, and desired experiences.
  • Design, present, and sell comprehensive and customized travel itineraries, including flights, accommodations, tours, cruises, and ground transportation.
  • Research and maintain expert-level knowledge of various destinations, including cultural nuances, travel advisories, and local attractions.
  • Provide expert recommendations on travel insurance policies, ensuring clients have adequate coverage for their specific journey.
  • Manage all booking and reservation logistics using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and other proprietary booking platforms.
  • Process payments, deposits, and final balances accurately and securely, adhering to company policies and payment schedules.
  • Advise clients on and assist with the procurement of necessary travel documentation, such as passports, visas, and other international entry requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed travel documents and final itineraries to clients prior to their departure date.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients before, during, and after their trip to resolve any issues, handle emergencies, or manage unexpected changes.
  • Proactively build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships to foster repeat business and encourage referrals.
  • Actively upsell and cross-sell travel products, including premium cabin seats, hotel upgrades, exclusive tours, and travel insurance.
  • Meet and exceed established monthly and quarterly sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with travel industry suppliers, including airlines, hotels, and tour operators, to secure competitive pricing and exclusive amenities.
  • Stay current with emerging travel trends, new destinations, industry regulations, and advancements in travel technology.
  • Handle complex travel arrangements for both leisure and corporate clients, including multi-destination trips and group travel.
  • Create and maintain accurate client profiles and booking records within the company’s CRM system.
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with suppliers to ensure maximum value for the client and profitability for the agency.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in a niche travel market, such as luxury, adventure, family, or wellness travel.
  • Participate in industry trade shows, familiarization trips, and supplier training to enhance product knowledge and professional network.
  • Provide post-travel follow-up to gather feedback, address any concerns, and strengthen the client relationship for future bookings.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting on sales trends, booking patterns, and client demographics to inform business strategy.
  • Provide feedback on travel products and services to contribute to the company's portfolio development and supplier selection.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • GDS Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in at least one major Global Distribution System (e.g., Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo, Worldspan).
  • Booking Platform Experience: Strong working knowledge of various online booking tools, cruise line portals, and hotel reservation systems.
  • CRM Software: Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage client data and sales pipelines.
  • Geographical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of world geography, popular travel destinations, and international travel logistics.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international travel regulations, visa requirements, passport rules, and customs.
  • MS Office Suite: Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel for communication and creating itineraries.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
