Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Directly assist licensed therapists and clinicians with implementing patient treatment plans, including guiding patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities.
- Prepare and maintain treatment areas by setting up necessary equipment, ensuring spaces are clean and organized, and sanitizing all surfaces and tools between patient sessions to meet infection control standards.
- Welcome patients, confirm their appointments, and guide them to the appropriate treatment areas, fostering a positive and professional first impression.

- Manage the inventory of clinical supplies and linens, placing orders as needed to ensure the clinic is always well-stocked and prepared for patient care.
- Perform basic patient care tasks such as taking and recording vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) as directed by clinical staff.
- Assist patients with mobility, including safe transfers to and from treatment tables, chairs, and equipment, utilizing proper body mechanics and transfer techniques.
- Facilitate therapeutic and recreational group sessions in behavioral health settings, co-facilitating discussions and activities under the guidance of a licensed therapist.
- Uphold strict patient confidentiality at all times by adhering to all HIPAA regulations and facility policies regarding protected health information.
- Conduct regular safety checks of the clinical environment and equipment, identifying and reporting any potential hazards or malfunctions to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Perform clerical and administrative duties, including answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, managing patient files, and processing intake paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure coordinated and seamless patient care.
- Provide de-escalation and crisis intervention support in behavioral health settings, utilizing approved techniques to manage challenging patient behaviors calmly and safely.
