Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision to a team of therapists, counselors, and case managers, focusing on case conceptualization, ethical practice, and professional growth.
  • Oversee the entire client lifecycle, from intake and assessment to the development, implementation, and regular review of comprehensive, person-centered treatment plans.
  • Conduct regular and thorough audits of clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, to ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and accrediting bodies (e.g., CARF, The Joint Commission).
  • Manage and delegate team caseloads to ensure equitable distribution, prevent burnout, and optimize the quality and timeliness of client service delivery.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for crisis situations, providing direct clinical intervention, de-escalation, and decisive leadership to ensure client and staff safety.
  • Develop, schedule, and facilitate ongoing staff training and professional development initiatives on topics such as evidence-based practices, crisis management, and cultural competency.
  • Lead the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for new clinical staff, ensuring a strong fit for the team and organization.
  • Conduct formal performance evaluations, set professional goals, and manage performance improvement plans for direct reports to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to promote collaboration, share insights, and ensure integrated and holistic care for all clients.
  • Serve as a key liaison between the clinical team, clients' families, and external providers or stakeholders, such as schools, courts, and primary care physicians.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key program metrics, including client outcomes, staff productivity, and service utilization, to senior leadership.
  • Guide clinical staff in the faithful application of specific therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
  • Address and mediate client or family grievances in a professional, empathetic, and solution-oriented manner, documenting all actions taken.
  • Manage the utilization review process with insurance providers and managed care organizations to secure and maintain authorization for client services.
  • Champion and model a therapeutic, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented environment for all individuals served by the program.
