Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Investigate, analyze, and adjudicate complex user reports and escalations concerning violations of platform policies, including harassment, hate speech, and misinformation.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of user-generated content (text, images, video, audio) against a comprehensive set of community guidelines, making consistent and high-quality enforcement decisions.
  • Handle time-sensitive and critical safety incidents, such as threats of violence or self-harm, by following precise protocols and coordinating with appropriate internal and external resources.
  • Clearly and compassionately communicate enforcement decisions and policy rationale to users, providing education and context for the actions taken.
  • Identify and analyze emerging trends in harmful behavior, platform abuse, and adversarial content, providing actionable insights to policy and product teams.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product management teams to provide feedback on the effectiveness of safety tools and recommend improvements for proactive detection.
  • Meticulously document investigation findings, decision-making processes, and case outcomes in internal systems to ensure a clear audit trail for legal and quality assurance purposes.
  • Provide expert, data-driven feedback to policy teams on potential gaps or ambiguities in existing community guidelines to foster continuous improvement.
  • Act as a point of escalation for high-profile or particularly nuanced cases, providing expert guidance to junior team members or cross-functional partners.
  • Conduct in-depth, open-source investigations into sophisticated threat actors, coordinated inauthentic behavior, and organized abuse networks targeting the platform.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation, which may include weekends and holidays, to provide 24/7 coverage for emergency safety escalations and time-critical incidents.
  • Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise in specific policy verticals, such as child safety, counter-terrorism, or election integrity.
  • Calibrate with global and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent and culturally-aware application of policies across different regions and user demographics.
  • Prepare detailed reports, post-mortems, and case studies on significant incidents and investigative findings for review by leadership and legal teams.
  • Proactively surface and investigate potential violations of platform policies, utilizing both internal tools and external sources to identify bad actors.
