Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Perform complex and highly technical troubleshooting on turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to diagnose root causes of failures and performance deviations.

  • Manage and perform large-scale component retrofits, modifications, and technology upgrades, ensuring strict adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards.
  • Operate, monitor, and analyze data from SCADA, HMI, and other control systems to track turbine performance, identify operational trends, and preemptively address potential faults.
  • Perform high-voltage switching, maintenance, and troubleshooting, rigorously following all lockout/tagout (LOTO), arc flash, and electrical safety protocols.
  • Utilize precision measurement and alignment tools, such as laser alignment systems, dial indicators, and calibrated torque wrenches, to ensure components are installed to exact OEM specifications.
  • Meticulously document all maintenance activities, service reports, fault findings, and parts consumption in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Complete comprehensive and professional service reports, time logs, and technical summaries for internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Champion and enforce a world-class safety culture by actively leading Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), participating in site safety audits, and consistently modeling safe work behaviors.
  • Respond to, diagnose, and resolve turbine fault codes, working systematically through control system logic to return the unit to service with minimal operational impact.
  • Conduct condition-monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, oil sampling, and wear particle analysis, to assess the long-term health of rotating equipment.
  • Provide expert technical guidance, on-the-job training, and mentorship to junior technicians and site operations staff to build team capability.
  • Manage the on-site inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables, coordinating with supply chain teams to ensure the availability of critical components.
  • Lead or support the commissioning of new and refurbished turbines, verifying that all systems function correctly and meet performance guarantees before handover.
  • Serve as a primary technical point of contact on-site, interfacing directly with clients, site managers, and remote technical support to communicate progress and recommendations.
  • Lead or participate in formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for significant failures, recurring issues, or safety incidents to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Perform advanced composite blade repairs, including structural repairs, leading-edge protection application, and lightning damage assessment.
  • Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with all environmental regulations, OEM technical bulletins, and corporate governance policies.
  • Calibrate and test turbine instrumentation, sensors, and control devices to ensure data accuracy and optimal automatic control of the turbine.
  • Support the continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, work instructions, and safety protocols by providing expert field-level feedback.
