Primary Functions

- Apply adhesives, contact cement, spray glues and seam sealants safely and evenly to bonding surfaces for fabric-to-foam and trim-to-frame applications.
- Remove old upholstery and cushioning from furniture, vehicle seats or panels by unstapling, de-riveting and carefully stripping materials for repair or recycling, documenting damaged components.
- Pre-fit and assemble panels, covers and seat components for trial fitting; make minor adjustments and mark alteration lines for final stitching or finishing.
- Use pneumatic and manual staple guns to secure covers to frames; set staple density and pattern to achieve consistent appearance and structural integrity.
- Perform edge finishing, piping, tufting and buttoning operations under guidance to create pull lines and correct fabric tension for finished aesthetics.
- Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections at each stage — cutting, sewing, assembly and finishing — to ensure alignment, seam integrity, color match and absence of defects.
- Maintain, clean and perform basic preventive maintenance on upholstery tools and machines (sewing machines, cutters, staplers, steamers) and escalate repairs to maintenance staff.
- Sort, fold and tag finished components and completed items; package according to shipping or installation specifications and prepare picklists for logistics or installers.
- Maintain accurate material usage records, complete basic production logs and report discrepancies in material consumption or scrap rates to supervisors.
