Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Maintain accurate production records, complete work-order documentation, and log material usage to support inventory control and shop scheduling.
Set up and perform routine maintenance on sewing machines, staplers, cutters and finishing tools, escalating mechanical issues and coordinating preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
Collaborate with pattern makers, cutters and supervisors to refine patterns and cutting layouts for material yield optimization and simplified finishing processes.
Communicate with production planners and shipping to prioritize orders, meet delivery schedules and accommodate rush or custom requests without compromising quality.
Follow all shop safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, and maintain clean, organized workstations to comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
Train and mentor junior finishers and apprentices on finishing techniques, quality expectations, machine operation and safe work practices to build team capability.
