Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  1. Lead the development, revision, and implementation of long-range planning documents (comprehensive plans, neighborhood plans, corridor studies, and master plans) that set the strategic vision for land use, growth management, and public infrastructure.
  2. Manage the municipal development review process from pre-application through final plat/permit issuance, coordinating cross-departmental technical review, conditions of approval, and developer agreements to ensure timely, code-compliant outcomes.

  19. Build and maintain relationships with regional agencies, transit authorities, utilities, and adjacent jurisdictions to coordinate cross-boundary planning, infrastructure investments, and regional growth strategies.
  20. Champion sustainability, resilience, and climate adaptation planning—integrating green infrastructure, low-impact development, energy efficiency, and mitigation strategies into planning frameworks.
  21. Supervise the preparation and administration of planning contracts, consultant scopes of work, RFPs, and consultant deliverable reviews to ensure quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
