  • Perform funnel and cohort analysis using SQL and analytics platforms (GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude) to diagnose drop-off points and recommend prioritized fixes to product and design teams.
  • Conduct qualitative synthesis of user interviews, session recordings, heatmaps (Hotjar/FullStory), and open feedback to produce personas, journey maps, experience maps, and opportunity matrices that guide design decisions.
  • Implement and maintain event/tracking plans and instrumentation requirements in collaboration with analytics engineers to ensure accurate capture of behavioral data for analysis.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and prioritized UX recommendations, using impact-effort frameworks and business context to align stakeholders.
  • Build, maintain, and present UX dashboards and executive summaries (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Google Data Studio) to communicate user behavior trends, experiment results, and improvement opportunities to cross-functional teams.
  • Prototype usability solutions (low- to mid-fidelity) in Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD to quickly validate concepts and clarify requirements for engineering.
  • Run competitive usability analyses and benchmark studies to identify feature gaps and industry best practices that inform product strategy.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to define hypotheses, success metrics, and experiment policies prior to development and launch.
  • Conduct accessibility audits and recommend remediation to meet WCAG/ADA guidelines and improve inclusive design across experiences.
  • Manage research repositories and documentation (Dovetail, Notion, Confluence) to ensure research artifacts, test plans, and insights are discoverable and reusable across the organization.
  • Perform segmentation analyses, persona-specific usability testing, and scenario-based testing to uncover differences in experience by user type, region, or platform.
  • Partner with Growth, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to analyze funnel performance, onboarding flows, and messaging effectiveness and propose UX-driven improvements.
  • Design and facilitate workshops with stakeholders (design sprints, journey mapping, usability playbacks) to socialize user insights and co-create solutions.
  • Execute ad-hoc analytics requests, build custom queries, and produce rapid turnaround insights to unblock product decisions and sprint priorities.
  • Monitor post-launch metrics and conduct learnings reviews to validate assumptions, iterate on UX changes, and feed outcomes back into the roadmap.
  • Establish and evangelize UX measurement best practices (experiment governance, tagging standards, data quality checks) across product and engineering teams.
  • Mentor and coach junior analysts and researchers on research methods, tooling, SQL, and experiment design to elevate team capability and consistency.
  • Prepare and deliver stakeholder-facing presentations and narrative-driven reports that combine data visualizations and user quotes to tell a persuasive product story.
  • Prioritize a backlog of UX findings and experiments using impact/effort frameworks, cost-benefit analysis, and alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Support product roadmap decisions by modeling the potential UX improvements’ effect on business KPIs and forecasting expected lift from experiments.
  • Conduct longitudinal usability studies and panel research to track changes in user behavior over time and validate longer-term design hypotheses.

Secondary Functions

  • Maintain and improve the UX research repository, tagging system, and institutional knowledge to accelerate research reuse and cross-team learning.
  • Assist in shaping the organization’s UX measurement strategy, defining governance for experiments, instrumentation, and reporting.
  • Provide training and best-practice guidance to product and design teams on basic analytics literacy, experiment interpretation, and usability testing techniques.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure event taxonomy, data quality, and tooling support for scalable UX measurement.
  • Support CX and support teams with segmented insights and root cause analysis for recurring customer issues and escalations.
  • Participate in sprint planning, design reviews, and agile ceremonies to ensure research findings are actionable and incorporated into development cycles.
  • Help prioritize accessibility and inclusive design initiatives and coordinate remediation efforts with engineering and product teams.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships and research platforms (UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Lookback) and manage budgets for research initiatives.
  • Contribute to product marketing and content strategy by providing user language, pain points, and onboarding optimization recommendations.
  • Run pilot studies and proof-of-concept analytics projects to evaluate new tooling or methodologies for the UX research program.
