- Partner closely with product managers and engineering teams to translate user-centered requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and incremental deliverables within Agile/Scrum processes.
- Advocate and implement accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1/2.2), perform accessibility audits, and guide engineering and content teams on remediation to ensure inclusive experiences.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops, design sprints, co-creation sessions, and stakeholder reviews to accelerate alignment, prioritize features, and reduce risk in product decisions.
- Create and present persuasive design recommendations, research findings, and ROI analyses to executive and client audiences, translating UX outcomes into business metrics such as conversion, retention, and NPS.
- Synthesize product analytics (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude) with qualitative insights to define measurable KPIs, track feature adoption, and recommend data-driven optimizations.
- Develop interaction specifications, UI guidelines, and annotated design deliverables that enable efficient handoff and high-fidelity implementation by engineering teams.
- Mentor and coach junior designers and researchers on methods, critique practices, and professional growth while contributing to a culture of continuous learning and design excellence.
- Drive hypothesis-driven design by framing problems, defining success metrics, and iterating quickly through rapid prototyping and user feedback loops.
- Create content strategy guidance that aligns microcopy, information architecture, and user flows to reduce friction and improve task completion rates.
- Manage client relationships, scope, timelines, and deliverables for multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting quality standards.
- Evaluate emerging UX tools, platforms, and frameworks to improve design productivity, remote collaboration, and usability research capabilities.
- Lead discovery and feasibility assessments for new product ideas or features, including competitive analysis, market UX benchmarking, and technical constraints evaluation.
- Provide design QA and acceptance testing to verify implementations match designs and meet usability and accessibility requirements prior to release.
- Establish and report on UX metrics and dashboards that demonstrate the impact of design changes on business goals, providing recommendations for further optimization.
Secondary Functions
- Support proposal development by scoping UX work, estimating effort, and articulating methodologies and deliverables for client contracts.
- Contribute to thought leadership through whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, and conference presentations that showcase UX consulting outcomes and methodologies.
- Assist in vendor evaluations and contractor onboarding for specialized tasks such as front-end development, accessibility remediation, or large-scale usability testing.
- Provide training sessions and internal workshops on UX best practices, research methods, design systems, and accessibility for cross-functional teams.
- Maintain and curate UX documentation, pattern libraries, and knowledge bases that accelerate onboarding and preserve institutional UX knowledge.
- Participate in commercial activities including discovery calls, client workshops, and scope refinement to identify upsell and renewal opportunities.
- Help define and iterate on internal UX processes, templates, and playbooks to improve consistency and delivery predictability across projects.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address privacy, data retention, and regulatory considerations relevant to user research and analytics.
- Support recruitment by participating in candidate interviews, portfolio reviews, and design challenge assessments for hiring UX talent.
- Monitor project budgets and resource allocations, reporting status and recommending adjustments to ensure client satisfaction and profitable delivery.
