Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Define and own the UX product vision and multi-quarter roadmap that aligns user research, business goals, and technical feasibility to increase engagement, conversion, and retention across web and mobile platforms.
  • Lead and scale cross-functional product teams (product managers, UX/UI designers, UX researchers, content strategists, front-end engineers) to deliver end-to-end user journeys and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and institutionalize a strategic design system and component library that ensures consistency, accessibility (WCAG), and scalability across product lines, reducing design debt and accelerating velocity.
  • Drive the research agenda and evidence-based product decisions by commissioning and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative studies (usability testing, ethnography, customer interviews, cohort analysis, A/B tests).
  • Translate business KPIs and customer insights into prioritized product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; maintain a backlog that balances discovery and delivery.
  • Partner with Engineering leadership to ensure product architecture, APIs, and technical constraints are considered in UX decisions and that delivery timelines are realistic and high-quality.
  • Establish and track UX-specific OKRs and KPIs (task success rate, NPS, CSAT, time-on-task, conversion funnel metrics) and deliver quarterly performance reports to executive stakeholders.
  • Drive go-to-market planning with Product Marketing to ensure feature positioning, onboarding flows, and release communications maximize adoption and reduce churn.
  • Mentor and grow a team of UX managers and senior individual contributors through hiring, performance management, career development plans, and regular 1:1 coaching.
  • Advocate for the user across the organization by evangelizing user-centered design principles, running design critiques, and hosting cross-functional workshops and design sprints.
  • Lead accessibility programs and audits to ensure products meet legal and ethical standards; partner with engineering for remediation and accessibility testing.
  • Define discovery and validation processes (rapid prototyping, proof-of-concept, beta programs) to de-risk investments before full-scale implementation.
  • Own prioritization tradeoffs across multiple product initiatives, balancing short-term business needs with long-term platform and UX strategy.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships at the executive level, align competing priorities, and secure resources and budget for strategic UX initiatives.
  • Spearhead personalization and customization strategies driven by user segmentation, behavioral data, and ML-enabled recommendations to improve user relevance.
  • Oversee performance of experimentation programs (A/B testing frameworks, feature flagging) and use statistical rigor to interpret results and inform roadmap decisions.
  • Integrate product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4) into the UX lifecycle to continuously measure user behavior and quantify the impact of design changes.
  • Coordinate global product launches and localization efforts, ensuring cultural usability and consistent experience across regions.
  • Lead pricing and packaging UX discussions where applicable, collaborating with finance and sales to surface user impacts of monetization changes.
  • Establish DesignOps practices (workflow, tooling, hiring plan) to maximize design throughput, collaboration, and quality control.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation (persona libraries, journey maps, research repositories, design principles) to democratize customer knowledge across the company.
  • Represent the company’s UX vision externally at conferences, analyst briefings, and customer meetings to build brand credibility and recruit top talent.
  • Manage vendor relationships for UX tooling, testing platforms, external research partners, and contract design resources to augment internal capabilities.
  • Ensure alignment between product compliance, privacy, and security requirements and UX implementations to protect user data and trust.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to inform UX hypotheses and product decisions.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by identifying UX-driven instrumentation needs and metrics.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, Psychology, Human Factors, Business, or related field.

  • Master’s degree or advanced certification in HCI, Interaction Design, Product Management, MBA, or related discipline.
