Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Define and own the UX product roadmap that aligns user needs, design strategy, and business goals; synthesize quantitative analytics and qualitative research to prioritize initiatives that maximize user value and business impact.
  • Lead discovery activities including generative and evaluative user research, moderated and unmoderated usability testing, diary studies, and contextual inquiry to uncover pain points and validate concepts before building.
  • Translate user insights into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes that guide design and engineering execution.
  • Design and run controlled experiments (A/B tests, multivariate tests) and rapid prototypes to validate hypotheses, optimize conversion funnels, and improve retention and engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and researchers to create personas, user journeys, information architecture, and interaction models that inform feature design and prioritization.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to scope work, define technical constraints, ensure accurate estimation, and deliver high-quality experiences on web and mobile platforms.
  • Define, instrument and own UX success metrics (e.g., task success rate, time-on-task, conversion rate, NPS, retention cohorts) and use analytics tools to monitor impact and inform product decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional product discovery workshops and co-creation sessions with design, engineering, data science, marketing and customer success to align on scope, goals and success metrics.
  • Maintain and evolve a component-based design system and pattern library in collaboration with Design and Engineering to increase consistency and speed of delivery.
  • Advocate for accessible, inclusive design and ensure product compliance with WCAG guidelines, accessibility testing, and assistive technology support.
  • Prioritize product backlog using a combination of user impact, business value, technical feasibility and strategic alignment; manage sprint priorities and roadmap trade-offs.
  • Prepare and present product updates, research findings, and roadmap proposals to senior leadership and stakeholders to secure alignment and resources.
  • Coordinate localization and internationalization needs to ensure UX consistency and cultural relevance across geographies and languages.
  • Ensure clear design handoffs, documentation and acceptance criteria; participate in design reviews and engineering QA to maintain design integrity through implementation.
  • Serve as the voice of the user in internal strategic discussions, balancing short-term optimization with long-term product vision and platform consistency.
  • Manage cross-functional dependencies and third-party vendor relationships (e.g., usability labs, research panels, prototyping tools) to accelerate discovery and delivery.
  • Mentor and coach designers and junior product managers on discovery techniques, UX metrics, experiment design and product storytelling.
  • Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify opportunities for differentiation, feature parity and user expectations in the market.
  • Drive content strategy and microcopy decisions in partnership with content designers and writers to improve clarity, trust and task completion.
  • Lead incident post-mortems and UX retrospectives after launch to capture learnings, refine hypotheses and iterate on future releases.
  • Ensure privacy, security and compliance considerations are integrated into UX decisions, especially where data collection, consent, and user trust are concerned.
  • Manage product release communications, internal enablement and documentation to ensure stakeholder readiness and consistent customer messaging.
  • Balance long-term platform investments (scalability, design system upgrades) with short-term growth experiments; build business cases and ROI models to secure investment.

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to answer UX-related questions and validate design assumptions using analytics and event data.
  • Contribute to the broader product and design organization's strategy and roadmap by surfacing UX patterns, technical debt, and opportunities for reuse.
  • Collaborate with business units and data teams to translate UX measurement needs into instrumentation requirements and tracking plans.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and agile ceremonies as a product owner representative for UX initiatives.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Product Design, Computer Science, Psychology, Information Science, or related field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's degree in HCI, Human Factors, Design, MBA, or related advanced degree that combines design and business/product strategy.
