- Establish, document, and maintain a scalable design system (components, tokens, patterns, documentation) to ensure consistency, accessibility, and development efficiency across products.
- Lead usability testing programs (remote and in-person), analyze qualitative and quantitative findings, synthesize recommendations, and drive iteration cycles that measurably improve usability metrics and user satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering to define MVP scope, prioritize UX debt, estimate design work, and ensure product releases meet usability, performance and accessibility targets.
- Partner with analytics and data teams to create experiment frameworks (A/B testing, funnel analysis), track UX-driven metrics, and make data-informed decisions to optimize user flows and conversion.
- Advocate for and implement accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.x compliance), run accessibility audits, and mentor teams to build inclusive experiences for users with diverse needs.
- Drive cross-functional discovery workshops, design sprints, and co-creation sessions to rapidly validate ideas, align stakeholders, and accelerate decision-making using research-backed concepts.
- Define UX success metrics and dashboards, report on UX health to executives, and present research-driven roadmaps that tie design impact to key business outcomes (revenue, retention, activation).
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of UX designers and researchers—setting performance goals, running design critiques, hiring talent, and creating career development plans.
- Own end-to-end design execution for critical product initiatives, balancing strategic direction with granular interaction details, microcopy guidance, and visual polish that reflects brand values.
- Facilitate handoffs and collaboration with engineering through design documentation, acceptance criteria, and regular design QA to ensure fidelity in implementation.
- Lead localization and internationalization efforts to adapt UX for global markets, collaborating with content, legal, and localization vendors to maintain consistency and legal compliance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (marketing, sales, customer success, legal) to prioritize UX work based on customer feedback, market demands, and regulatory requirements.
- Introduce and standardize UX research repositories, design libraries, and pattern documentation to accelerate knowledge sharing and reduce duplicated effort across product teams.
- Conduct competitive and market analysis to identify product differentiation opportunities, map competitor UX patterns, and propose innovations to improve market positioning.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying UX debt, creating prioritized remediation plans, and reducing friction across onboarding, conversion funnels, and key user journeys.
- Design and oversee the implementation of content strategy and microcopy across the product to improve clarity, reduce support volume, and increase user trust.
- Own post-launch evaluations and iterative improvements—collecting behavioral data, interviewing users, and running rapid experiments to refine features and increase ROI.
- Provide subject-matter expertise for client engagements, sales enablement, and RFP responses where product experience is a strategic differentiator.
Secondary Functions
- Support ad-hoc UX research requests, guerrilla testing, and rapid prototype validation to unblock product teams.
- Contribute to the organization's design strategy and roadmap, aligning UX priorities with broader business objectives.
- Collaborate with analytics, customer success, and product marketing to translate qualitative and quantitative user insights into prioritized engineering and product requirements.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, grooming sessions, and agile ceremonies to advocate for UX priorities and ensure user-centered delivery.
- Support recruitment by drafting job descriptions, screening design portfolios, and participating in interview panels to build a high-caliber UX team.
- Maintain vendor relationships for user testing platforms, accessibility auditors, and design tooling, optimizing spend and process efficiency.
- Develop internal UX training, templates, and playbooks to upskill product teams on research, accessibility, and design thinking best practices.
- Serve as a design evangelist in external forums, conferences or customer workshops to represent the company’s UX approach and build brand credibility.
