Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Define and own the product experience strategy and roadmap by synthesizing qualitative user research, quantitative analytics, market trends, and business KPIs to prioritize initiatives with the highest impact on retention, engagement, and revenue.
  • Lead discovery and ideation workshops with cross-functional teams to convert business goals and user insights into clear hypotheses, feature concepts, and prioritized experiments that validate product-market fit.
  • Conduct and commission mixed-methods research (interviews, usability testing, diary studies, surveys, and ethnography) to uncover unmet user needs and translate findings into actionable product requirements and opportunity areas.
  • Create and maintain customer journey maps, experience blueprints, and persona frameworks that surface friction points, moments that matter, and strategic opportunities across multi-channel experiences.
  • Translate user needs and business objectives into clear, testable product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics for engineering and design teams.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to craft high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, wireframes, and design system components that support scalable and consistent user experiences.
  • Drive A/B testing programs and experimentation roadmaps to optimize conversion funnels, onboarding flows, pricing experiments, and feature engagement using rigorous hypothesis-driven approaches.
  • Partner with data science and analytics teams to define and monitor leading and lagging metrics (activation, retention, task success, NPS, CLTV) and use those insights to shape product priorities and trade-offs.
  • Evangelize user-centered design and product strategy across the organization through workshops, stakeholder presentations, and executive briefings that align teams around measurable outcomes and timelines.
  • Act as the primary liaison between product, design, engineering, marketing, and sales to ensure that releases meet UX quality standards, accessibility guidelines, and performance targets.
  • Lead prioritization discussions using frameworks such as RICE, ICE, and opportunity-solution trees to balance user impact, business value, technical effort, and strategic risk.
  • Build and maintain product discovery cadences — regular research sprints, customer interviews, prototype validation, and feedback loops — to reduce risk and accelerate validated learning.
  • Define clear success metrics and OKRs for UX initiatives, own their measurement, and iterate on the product roadmap based on data and user feedback.
  • Advocate for accessible and inclusive design practices, ensuring products meet WCAG standards and serve diverse user populations.
  • Mentor and coach designers, product managers, and researchers on strategic thinking, user research methods, and outcome-focused product development.
  • Lead stakeholder management for complex, multi-team programs — aligning roadmaps, communicating trade-offs, securing resourcing, and negotiating scope to meet business priorities.
  • Manage product backlog items related to UX improvements, technical debt tied to user experience, and design system evolution to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.

  • Plan and execute product launches and go-to-market activities with product marketing, ensuring user-centered messaging, onboarding flows, and post-launch measurement plans are in place.
  • Drive service design and systems thinking across product lines to eliminate handoffs, reduce user cognitive load, and create coherent cross-product experiences.
  • Partner with legal, security, and compliance teams to ensure UX decisions meet regulatory requirements and protect user privacy.
  • Design and oversee longitudinal studies to measure long-term product impact, habit formation, and behavioral change to inform multi-quarter roadmaps.
  • Create playbooks, templates, and best practices for discovery, research, and design handoffs to increase team efficiency and maintain high-quality UX outcomes.
  • Lead cross-functional design critiques and usability review sessions to ensure solutions are usable, defensible, and aligned to user needs and product strategy.
  • Own post-launch analysis, synthesizing qualitative feedback and quantitative metrics into actionable retro items and product iterations.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Cognitive Psychology, Computer Science, Business, or related field.

Preferred Education:

  • Master's degree or advanced certificate in HCI, Design Strategy, Behavioral Science, Product Management, or an MBA with product/UX focus.
