Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Safely and efficiently maneuver vehicles between the service drive, parking areas, display lots, and body shop to support sales and service operations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of the vehicle lot by arranging cars in an orderly and visually appealing manner according to dealership standards.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of vehicle exteriors and interiors, including washing, waxing, vacuuming, and detailing, to ensure they are in pristine, showroom-ready condition.
  • Greet and assist customers on the lot or in the service drive, providing a positive first impression and directing them to the appropriate sales or service personnel.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of vehicles on the lot, verifying the presence and location of all stock and reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Manage vehicle keys by organizing, tagging, and securely storing them, and ensuring a smooth check-in/check-out process for staff.
  • Prepare newly arrived vehicles for sale by removing protective plastic, installing accessories, and placing pricing stickers and informational materials as directed.
  • Fuel vehicles as needed, ensuring that demo vehicles and cars scheduled for customer delivery have adequate fuel levels.
  • Perform basic quality control checks on vehicles, inspecting for and reporting any cosmetic damage, warning lights, or mechanical issues.
  • Assist the sales and service teams by locating and retrieving specific vehicles from the lot or inventory storage for customer test drives or service appointments.
  • Keep the service drive and customer reception areas clean and free of obstructions to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff.
  • Jump-start vehicles with dead batteries and perform basic maintenance checks, such as monitoring tire pressure and fluid levels.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist with dealer trades by preparing vehicles for transfer and sometimes driving them to or from other dealership locations.
  • Support the photography process for online listings by staging vehicles and moving them to designated photo areas.
  • Run essential errands for the dealership, such as delivering paperwork, picking up parts, or transporting items between different company locations.
  • Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the dealership property, including removing trash and debris from the lot.
  • Place and remove protective coverings (e.g., floor mats, seat covers) in customer vehicles to prevent soiling during the service process.
  • Help set up and tear down special event displays on the lot, such as for weekend sales or promotional events.
  • Provide shuttle services for customers, transporting them to their homes or workplaces while their vehicle is being serviced.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and lot supplies, notifying the manager when items need to be reordered.
