Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Monitor and analyze the end-to-end vehicle delivery pipeline, from factory release through multi-modal transit to final dealer delivery, to proactively identify and resolve potential delays.
- Develop, maintain, and evolve a suite of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards to track carrier performance, on-time delivery rates, transit times, and cost-per-unit.
- Conduct regular deep-dive analyses into logistics network performance, presenting actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Manage and optimize vehicle flow through various network nodes, including manufacturing plants, railheads, ports, and mixing centers, to minimize dwell time and carrying costs.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and proprietary software to plan, execute, and track vehicle shipments with a high degree of accuracy.
- Serve as a primary analytical contact for our logistics partners and carriers, holding them accountable to service level agreements (SLAs) through data-driven performance reviews.
- Investigate and resolve complex in-transit issues, such as damages, mis-shipments, or significant delays, by coordinating with carriers, claims departments, and field personnel.
- Perform detailed freight cost analysis and carrier invoice audits, identifying discrepancies and ensuring billing accuracy against contracted rates.
- Model and simulate the cost and service impact of potential network changes, such as adding a new carrier, changing a shipping lane, or opening a new distribution point.
- Generate and distribute precise vehicle delivery forecasts to internal stakeholders (Sales, Production Planning) and external partners to ensure network capacity aligns with demand.
- Analyze transportation capacity constraints and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks associated with weather events, labor disruptions, or seasonal volume surges.
- Lead projects focused on logistics process improvement, leveraging methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to drive operational excellence and cost savings.
- Collaborate with the procurement team during carrier sourcing events and contract negotiations by providing historical data and performance analysis.
- Manage the allocation of vehicle volumes across different carriers and modes of transport to balance cost, speed, and risk.
- Maintain the integrity of logistics data within our core systems, ensuring that all shipment information is accurate and up-to-date for reliable reporting and analysis.

Hard Skills (Technical)
- Advanced Data Analysis: Proven ability to not just report numbers, but to interpret what they mean for the business. You must be able to spot trends, anomalies, and opportunities in large, complex datasets.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel: Mastery of pivot tables, complex formulas (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, etc.), Power Query, and data modeling is non-negotiable.
