Primary Functions

  • Orchestrate and drive the vehicle program from concept through post-launch phases, ensuring strict adherence to the master timeline, budget, and critical quality gates.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and communication nexus for all program-related activities, facilitating seamless information flow and alignment across diverse cross-functional teams including Engineering, Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality.
  • Develop, meticulously maintain, and drive the execution of the integrated master program schedule (Gantt), tracking all key deliverables, milestones, and dependencies to proactively identify and mitigate risks to timing.
  • Lead recurring program status meetings with stakeholders at all levels, preparing and presenting comprehensive, data-driven reports on program health, risks, issues, and milestone achievement.
  • Manage the program's scope and rigorously facilitate the Engineering Change Management process, leading the evaluation of proposed changes on cost, timing, vehicle attributes, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Champion the Bill of Materials (BOM) maturation process, coordinating with engineering and supply chain teams to ensure BOM accuracy and alignment with program milestones, cost targets, and build readiness.
  • Coordinate and track all prototype and pre-production build activities, ensuring parts availability, documenting build issues, and guaranteeing vehicles are ready for required testing and validation phases.
  • Drive the swift resolution of complex, cross-functional issues by identifying root causes, facilitating technical discussions with subject matter experts, and ensuring robust countermeasures are implemented and verified.
  • Manage and report on program budget and financial performance, tracking piece costs, tooling investment, and engineering expenditures against established targets and highlighting variances to leadership.
  • Facilitate key program-level decision-making by preparing detailed analyses, presenting trade-off studies and options, and providing clear, actionable recommendations to leadership for gateway approvals.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive risk management plans, continuously identifying potential program threats and opportunities, and developing proactive mitigation and contingency strategies with clear ownership.
  • Ensure all program activities and deliverables comply with the company's established Vehicle Development Process (VDP) or New Product Introduction (NPI) framework, serving as a subject matter expert on the process.
  • Interface directly with key suppliers to track component development, tooling progress, and production readiness (PPAP), escalating critical issues as necessary to ensure a stable and capable supply chain at launch.
  • Support vehicle-level validation and testing activities by ensuring clear DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) are in place, resources are allocated, and test results are integrated back into the development loop.
  • Prepare the program and team for key executive reviews and gateway approvals, compiling all necessary documentation and data into a cohesive narrative that accurately reflects program status.

  • Act as a mentor for junior project coordinators or associate program managers, providing guidance on best practices in automotive program management.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program issue and risk log (e.g., RAID log), ensuring each item has a clear owner, action plan, and due date.
  • Coordinate with homologation and certification teams to ensure vehicle design and testing aligns with all regulatory requirements for global target markets.
  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap for program management.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into engineering and system requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies where applicable within the program management team.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Vehicle Development Process Acumen: Deep understanding of the automotive VDP or NPI lifecycle, from concept and clay modeling through to mass production and launch.
  • Project Management Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet) for complex timeline creation, resource planning, and progress tracking.
  • PLM & BOM Expertise: Strong experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., Teamcenter, ENOVIA) and managing the accuracy and evolution of multi-level Bill of Materials (BOM) structures.
  • Risk Management Methodologies: Competency in applying risk assessment methodologies (e.g., FMEA) and developing robust, actionable mitigation plans.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
