Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with and greet customers on the sales floor and lot, creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere to initiate the sales process.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments by employing active listening and asking insightful questions to fully understand each customer's lifestyle, driving needs, and financial parameters.
  • Master and maintain in-depth product knowledge across the entire vehicle lineup, including models, trims, features, benefits, and competitive advantages, to serve as a trusted product evangelist.
  • Skillfully perform and narrate dynamic vehicle presentations and test drives that highlight key features and create a compelling, tangible ownership experience for the customer.
  • Structure, present, and clearly explain sales proposals, including vehicle pricing, trade-in valuations, financing options, and available aftermarket products.
  • Navigate and negotiate deal terms ethically and effectively, focusing on achieving a mutually beneficial outcome that ensures customer satisfaction while upholding dealership profitability goals.
  • Guide customers seamlessly through the financing and insurance (F&I) process, explaining options and collaborating with the F&I department to complete all necessary paperwork with precision.
  • Diligently manage a robust pipeline of prospective customers and sales leads using the dealership's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system for consistent and timely follow-up.
  • Cultivate and nurture long-term customer relationships through post-sale follow-up and ongoing communication, with the goal of fostering repeat business and a strong referral network.
  • Coordinate and execute flawless vehicle deliveries, ensuring the car is meticulously prepared and detailed, and providing a comprehensive feature orientation to the new owner.
  • Meet or exceed established monthly and quarterly sales quotas and performance benchmarks for vehicle volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction index (CSI) scores.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries—whether in-person, via phone, email, or internet lead—with speed, professionalism, and a helpful, solutions-oriented attitude.

Secondary Functions

  • Actively participate in all sales meetings, ongoing training sessions, and manufacturer certification programs to stay current on product developments, sales techniques, and industry trends.
  • Assist in maintaining the professional appearance and organization of the showroom floor, sales offices, and vehicle lot to ensure a premium customer environment at all times.
  • Collaborate with the service and parts departments to understand vehicle maintenance schedules and the value of genuine parts, effectively communicating these benefits to customers.
