Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Proactively source and identify high-potential investment opportunities by building and nurturing an extensive, proprietary network of entrepreneurs, VCs, accelerators, universities, and industry experts.
- Manage and cultivate a robust deal pipeline, systematically tracking, qualifying, and prioritizing a high volume of inbound and outbound leads to ensure a steady flow of quality investment prospects.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes on potential investments, including in-depth analysis of business models, market size and dynamics, competitive landscape, technology differentiation, and go-to-market strategy.
- Conduct deep dives into the founding team, assessing their capabilities, vision, resilience, and ability to execute on their strategic plan.
- Develop and scrutinize complex financial models, unit economics, and valuation analyses (e.g., DCF, comparable analysis, precedent transactions) to build a strong, data-driven investment case.
- Author and present detailed, high-conviction investment memorandums and recommendations to the firm's Investment Committee.
- Structure and negotiate investment terms, including valuation, governance rights, and other key provisions in term sheets and definitive legal documents, ensuring alignment with the fund's strategic objectives.
- Manage the entire deal execution lifecycle, coordinating with internal teams, legal counsel, financial advisors, and other stakeholders to bring transactions to a successful and timely close.
- Actively manage and support a portfolio of startup companies, often serving as a board observer or board member to provide strategic guidance and governance.
- Develop and execute bespoke value-creation initiatives for portfolio companies, leveraging the firm's network, resources, and expertise to accelerate their product, market, and team development.
- Monitor portfolio company performance by tracking key metrics (KPIs), financial results, and milestone achievement, providing regular, insightful reporting to fund leadership.
- Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with co-investors, corporate partners, and other key players in the venture ecosystem to syndicate deals and share insights.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of the fund's overarching investment strategy, thesis, and sector-specific focus areas.
- Represent the firm with authority and professionalism at industry conferences, demo days, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and deal flow.
