Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vocal plan for the entire cast, addressing the specific stylistic and technical demands of the production.

- Prepare and notate clear, accurate vocal scores, lead sheets, and learning materials for the cast and music department.
- Liaise with external vocal health professionals, such as laryngologists and speech-language pathologists, to manage and support performers' vocal wellness.
- Research and master the specific vocal styles required for the show, from contemporary pop/rock to traditional musical theatre or operatic techniques, and effectively teach them to the cast.
- Manage the "put-in" process for replacement cast members, efficiently integrating them into the existing production.
- Create and distribute high-quality audio learning tracks and practice materials to facilitate efficient and accurate learning outside of rehearsals.
- Partner with the Dialect Coach to ensure seamless integration of accent work with singing, maintaining both intelligibility and character.
- Provide detailed, constructive, and actionable feedback to performers in a manner that is both supportive and motivating.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all vocal parts, cuts, and changes for archival purposes and for mounting future productions.
- Act as the key point of contact for all performer-related vocal questions, concerns, and requirements.
- Drive the vocal narrative of the show, ensuring that the singing not only meets technical standards but also effectively tells the story and conveys emotion.
