Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the end-to-end development, strategic implementation, and rigorous evaluation of innovative vocational training programs that align with current industry demands and employer needs.
  • Provide dynamic leadership and direct supervision to a diverse team of instructors, career counselors, and administrative staff, fostering a culture of excellence, professional growth, and collaborative success.
  • Exercise full fiscal oversight, including comprehensive budget development, meticulous financial management, and strategic resource allocation to maximize program impact and ensure financial sustainability.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust strategic partnerships with local employers, industry associations, and community stakeholders to create a strong pipeline for internships, apprenticeships, and direct job placements.
  • Direct the continuous assessment and enhancement of all training curricula, instructional materials, and teaching methodologies to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and relevance.
  • Lead grant writing, fundraising, and other resource development activities to secure funding and support for new and existing vocational programs.
  • Oversee all aspects of program operations, including student recruitment, intake, assessment, case management, and retention strategies to ensure high completion and success rates.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as enrollment numbers, completion rates, job placement statistics, and wage gains to stakeholders and funding bodies.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including accreditation standards and requirements from funding sources like the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive employer engagement strategy to understand hiring needs, secure job commitments, and gather feedback to inform program design.
  • Champion the integration of cutting-edge educational technology, including Learning Management Systems (LMS), to enhance the learning experience and improve administrative efficiency.
  • Design and manage wraparound support services for participants, addressing barriers to employment such as transportation, childcare, and housing in collaboration with community partners.
  • Oversee the creation of individualized career development plans for participants, guiding them from initial assessment through training, job search, and post-placement support.
  • Analyze labor market data and industry trends to proactively identify emerging career fields and adapt program offerings to meet future workforce demands.
  • Mediate and resolve complex issues involving staff, program participants, and external partners with professionalism and a student-centered approach.

Secondary Functions

  • Represent the organization at community events, industry conferences, and workforce development boards to enhance visibility and build professional networks.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop compelling materials that promote training programs, celebrate participant success stories, and attract new students.
  • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on vocational trends, labor market information, and adult learning principles for the wider organization.
  • Engage in cross-departmental strategic planning to ensure training initiatives are integrated with the organization's broader mission and long-term goals.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for all training staff to keep them updated on best practices in instruction, counseling, and workforce development.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
