Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse, skilled, and dedicated pool of volunteers from various community channels.
  • Design, schedule, and deliver comprehensive orientation and ongoing training programs to fully equip volunteers for their roles and immerse them in the organization's culture and mission.
  • Manage the end-to-end volunteer lifecycle, from application screening and interviewing to placement and offboarding, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all volunteers, addressing inquiries, providing guidance, and offering consistent support to foster a strong sense of belonging.
  • Meticulously maintain the volunteer database or management system (VMS), ensuring all records, hours, certifications, and contact details are accurate and current.
  • Create and execute a dynamic volunteer recognition and appreciation program to celebrate contributions, boost morale, and enhance long-term retention.
  • Proactively build and nurture strategic partnerships with local businesses, schools, universities, and community groups to establish a robust volunteer pipeline.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and informal performance conversations with volunteers, offering constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for their growth.
  • Mediate and resolve any interpersonal conflicts or challenges involving volunteers with empathy, diplomacy, and a focus on positive outcomes.
