Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive volunteer recruitment and outreach strategy to attract a diverse and skilled pool of volunteers, utilizing online platforms, community partnerships, and targeted campaigns.
  • Manage the complete volunteer lifecycle, including screening applications, conducting interviews, performing background checks, and matching volunteers to suitable roles based on their skills and interests.
  • Design, schedule, and deliver engaging and informative orientation and training sessions to properly equip volunteers with the knowledge, skills, and understanding of our mission and policies.
  • Establish and maintain a robust volunteer database or management system (e.g., Volgistics, Better Impact) to accurately track volunteer hours, assignments, skills, and contact information.
  • Create, review, and update volunteer position descriptions, handbooks, and program policies to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational needs and best practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the volunteer corps, providing ongoing support, supervision, coaching, and guidance to ensure a positive and productive volunteer experience.
  • Implement and manage a strategic volunteer recognition program to formally and informally celebrate volunteer contributions, boost morale, and enhance long-term retention.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and placements across various departments and programs, ensuring all operational and event-based needs are adequately staffed.
  • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of the volunteer program's effectiveness, gathering feedback from volunteers and staff to identify areas for improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads and program managers to understand their needs, forecast future volunteer requirements, and co-create meaningful service opportunities.
  • Act as a public ambassador for the volunteer program, promoting opportunities through public speaking, social media, newsletters, and community events to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Ensure the volunteer program is in full compliance with all relevant legal requirements and organizational policies, particularly concerning risk management, safety, and confidentiality.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
