Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Define and evangelize a clear, differentiated product vision and multi-year strategy that aligns with company mission, market opportunities, and investor expectations; translate that vision into prioritized roadmaps and measurable business objectives.
  • Own product P&L and drive revenue, retention, and profitability targets by shaping pricing strategy, packaging, monetization experiments, and GTM initiatives in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
  • Lead a cross-functional product leadership team (senior PMs, design leads, data science, analytics) and build scalable product org structures, hiring plans, competency frameworks, and career paths to attract, retain, and develop top product talent.
  • Set OKRs and success metrics for product lines, define KPIs (ARR, MRR, churn, LTV:CAC, conversion, activation, DAU/MAU, NPS) and use data-driven analysis to prioritize investments and measure outcomes.
  • Drive customer discovery and market research programs—directly engage with strategic customers, prospects, and partners to gather insights, validate hypotheses, and inform roadmap decisions.
  • Oversee product discovery and delivery processes, ensuring teams practice continuous discovery, rapid experimentation (A/B testing), validated learning, and user-centered design to reduce time to value.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and CTO to define technical roadmaps, API strategy, platform scalability, and trade-offs that balance speed, quality, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Partner with Design and UX to ensure cohesive end-to-end user experiences, accessibility standards, and product usability that improve engagement and reduce friction across cohorts.
  • Own release planning and go-to-market coordination, working with Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, and Customer Success to create launch plans, sales tools, training, and collateral that maximize adoption.
  • Lead cross-functional prioritization forums and governance (roadmap councils, executive reviews) to align senior stakeholders on scope, timelines, resourcing, and business impact.
  • Establish and refine product management standards and best practices: PRD templates, user story quality, acceptance criteria, backlog hygiene, sprint planning, and continuous improvement rituals.
  • Drive strategic partnerships, integrations, and third-party ecosystems to extend product value, accelerate distribution, and unlock new revenue channels.
  • Lead due diligence and product evaluation for potential M&A, partnerships, or strategic investments; provide product impact assessments and integration plans.
  • Champion a data-first approach: work with analytics, data engineering, and BI to define instrumentation, dashboards, and models that enable cohort analysis, funnel optimization, and predictive insights.
  • Manage risk and compliance considerations in product initiatives, including data privacy (GDPR, CCPA), security requirements, and regulatory constraints relevant to the industry.
  • Translate market trends, competitive intelligence, and technology shifts into product opportunities and defensible positioning, continuously recalibrating priorities.
  • Drive lifecycle management strategies across acquisition, activation, retention, and expansion phases with clear playbooks that improve conversion and reduce churn.
  • Lead pricing experiments, packaging redesigns, and enterprise negotiation patterns for mid-market and enterprise customers; partner with Finance to evaluate revenue impact and margin trade-offs.
  • Build and maintain a culture of customer obsession and operational excellence; mentor product leads, foster cross-functional collaboration, and elevate product craftsmanship across the organization.
  • Communicate product strategy, roadmap, and metrics effectively to the executive team, board of directors, investors, and broader organization, providing clear context and trade-offs for strategic decisions.
  • Facilitate cross-border product launches, localization strategies, and international market expansion plans where applicable, working with legal and regional business teams.
  • Drive cost-efficiency and resource optimization across product initiatives, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform investments and technical debt reduction.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex product issues (performance, incidents, customer escalations), coordinating rapid response, communication, and post-mortem follow-up.
  • Advocate for and implement scalable product telemetry and experimentation platforms to accelerate validated learning and reduce opinion-based decisions.

Secondary Functions

  • Support executive leadership in strategic planning sessions and contribute to company-level OKRs, fundraising materials, and investor updates focused on product roadmap and growth metrics.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to mid-level product managers and cross-functional leaders, actively participating in recruiting, interviewing, and talent development activities.
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics on ad-hoc analyses to validate hypotheses, quantify feature impact, and identify new product opportunities.
  • Participate in customer advisory boards and user communities to surface strategic feedback and prioritize high-impact product initiatives.
  • Represent the product organization in executive steering committees, legal reviews, and compliance assessments to ensure product decisions meet organizational risk tolerance and regulatory obligations.
