  • Coordinate closely with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP teams to ensure packing transactions are completed correctly, exceptions are resolved, barcodes and labels print accurately, and EDI/ASN documents match physical shipments.
  • Manage packing material inventory including cartons, tape, cushioning, labels, and pallets; place timely purchase orders, negotiate with vendors for consumables, and implement standard packing kits for common SKUs.
  • Lead packing line set-ups for new products and promotions including creating packing instructions, required tools list, label templates, and sample packs for validation prior to full production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on packing errors, transit damages, and customer complaints; implement corrective actions such as process changes, re-training, improved materials, or packaging redesigns.
  • Oversee cartonization and dimensional verification processes to optimize shipping costs, reduce dimensional weight charges, and ensure carriers accept shipments without exception.

  • Lead safety and compliance initiatives within the packing area including ergonomic assessments, PPE enforcement, hazard communication, and participation in safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen events in the packing area to reduce waste (time, materials), lower cost-per-shipment, and improve overall throughput and quality.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for packing-related issues during your shift, resolving order exceptions, paperwork discrepancies, and customer-specific packing requirements in real time.
  • Configure and maintain packing labels, commercial invoices, and customs documentation for international shipments and ensure compliance with export/import regulations when applicable.
