Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Lead cross-functional warehouse improvement projects from initiation through closure, including scope definition, project charter development, scheduling, resource planning, risk assessment, and benefits realization; ensure projects deliver expected ROI and KPI improvements (e.g., throughput, order accuracy, labor productivity).
- Conduct end-to-end process mapping for receiving, storage, picking, packing and shipping operations; identify process bottlenecks, waste and variation using Lean principles and recommend prioritized corrective actions to reduce cycle time and operational cost.
- Analyze large datasets (WMS, ERP, labor management, conveyor PLC logs, and transaction data) to produce actionable insights and performance dashboards; define, track and report on KPIs such as orders per hour, picks per man-hour, on-time shipments, inventory accuracy, and dock-to-stock time.
- Design and execute time-and-motion studies, slotting analyses and capacity studies to optimize labor deployment, storage locations and picking strategies; quantify expected gains and produce implementation plans for pilots and rollouts.
- Manage WMS, voice, barcode/scan, automation and material handling upgrade projects: translate business requirements into functional specs, coordinate vendor implementations, support UAT, oversee cutover planning and ensure data integrity during transitions.
- Develop detailed project plans, resource matrices and Gantt timelines; coordinate internal teams (operations, safety, IT, facilities, procurement) and external vendors to maintain schedule and budget discipline.
- Prepare business cases and financial models to justify capital and improvement initiatives; estimate costs, net present value (NPV), payback and sensitivity to prioritize investments across warehouses.
- Facilitate cross-functional workshops and steering committees; present project status, risk/issue logs and mitigation plans to senior leadership and stakeholders to secure alignment and expedite decisions.
- Drive change management and operator training programs for new processes, technologies or layout changes; create standard operating procedures (SOPs), quick reference guides and training curricula; measure adoption and proficiency post-implementation.
- Coordinate pilot programs for new services or technologies (e.g., put-to-light, goods-to-person, robotics) and evaluate performance against control groups; iterate on configurations to scale successful pilots company-wide.
- Monitor inventory control programs including cycle counts, root-cause analysis of discrepancies and corrective action plans to improve accuracy and reduce write-offs.
- Implement and refine KPI dashboards and automated reporting using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) to provide real-time visibility for operations managers and executives.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects within the distribution network to drive sustainable cost and quality improvements.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendors to specify material handling equipment, automation components and packaging solutions; manage RFP processes, vendor selection and contract milestones.
- Develop and enforce safety, regulatory and compliance standards across project activities; ensure designs and implementations meet OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies.
- Coordinate logistics and floor layout changes to optimize inbound/outbound flows, staging areas and dock operations to minimize dwell time and increase capacity for peak seasons.
- Support demand planning and slotting decisions by communicating SKU velocity, cube, and replenishment profiles to inventory planners; align storage strategies with forecasted demand and seasonality.
- Track project financials proactively: manage budgets, change orders, capital approvals and monthly cost forecasts; reconcile actuals and produce variance analysis for finance stakeholders.
- Run root cause analyses for operational failures (e.g., missed shipments, equipment downtime) and implement corrective action plans; ensure lessons learned are documented and rolled into SOPs.
- Coordinate with IT and data engineering to ensure accurate integrations between WMS, ERP, TMS and other systems; validate data schemas, master data and transaction flows to prevent reconciliation errors.
- Support peak season planning, including labor forecasts, temporary capacity solutions, and contingency planning for surge volume; build scenarios and run simulations to stress-test operations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between supply chain planning, customer service and inbound/outbound operations during service disruptions or system migrations; prioritize recovery actions to limit business impact.
- Document and maintain a repository of project artifacts, SOPs, training materials and performance baselines to support knowledge transfer and replication of successful projects across sites.

Hard Skills (Technical)

Educational Background
Minimum Education:
