- Design responsive, mobile-first web pages and templates using modern UX patterns to ensure consistent user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Translate user research, analytics, and stakeholder interviews into actionable UI/UX solutions, user journeys, personas, and annotated design specifications that inform product decisions.
- Create pixel-perfect visual designs that reflect brand guidelines β including typography, color systems, iconography, imagery, and motion β and produce design systems/components for reuse across web properties.
- Implement and maintain component-based design systems and style guides (Figma, Sketch, Storybook) to improve consistency, speed, and scalability across multi-page websites and campaigns.
- Build and iterate high-fidelity prototypes (Figma, Adobe XD, InVision) to validate interactions and flows with stakeholders, developers, and end users prior to handoff.
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs, provide responsive HTML/CSS/JS snippets, QA production builds, and resolve design-development gaps quickly.
- Author semantic, accessible HTML5 and CSS3 (SCSS/LESS) patterns or provide front-end-ready design deliverables to accelerate development while ensuring maintainability and cross-browser compatibility.
- Optimize page speed and web performance through design and asset decisions: image optimization, SVG use, lazy loading, critical CSS, and reducing render-blocking resources to improve Core Web Vitals.
- Apply on-page SEO best practices in design work: clear content hierarchy, semantic markup, meta and heading structure, image alt text guidance, and mobile usability to increase organic search performance.
- Ensure digital accessibility by designing to WCAG 2.1 AA standards β keyboard navigation, color contrast, screen reader labels, and accessible form interactions β and prepare accessibility checklists for developers.
- Design conversion-focused landing pages and funnels that use persuasive UX, A/B testing inputs, and conversion rate optimization principles to drive leads, sign-ups, and revenue.
- Create adaptive/ad-serving and campaign templates for CMS platforms (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Drupal) that enable marketers to publish on-brand, scalable landing pages without developer intervention.
- Produce thorough design documentation and annotated specs that include interaction states, responsive behaviors, breakpoints, and asset export guidance to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Conduct design reviews, usability tests, and heuristic evaluations β synthesize findings to refine wireframes and visual designs and prioritize improvements based on user impact and effort.
- Partner with content strategists and copywriters to create scannable, SEO-optimized content layouts and microcopy that improve readability, conversions, and on-page search visibility.
- Maintain version control and iterative design history (Figma versioning, Git for front-end assets) and collaborate via agile workflows including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives.
- Monitor and analyze website analytics (Google Analytics, GA4, Hotjar) to measure design impact on KPIs such as time on page, bounce rates, conversions, and user flows; iterate designs based on data.
- Create reusable UI component libraries, SVG icon sets, and asset packages for handoff to developers and marketing teams to reduce duplicated effort and ensure consistent branding.
- Stay informed on web design, front-end technology, accessibility, and SEO trends; recommend process improvements and new tools to increase design velocity and quality.
- Produce and present design proposals, rationale, and ROI-focused recommendations to stakeholders and executives to secure buy-in and align design with business priorities.
- Troubleshoot visual or interaction regressions in live websites, coordinate hotfixes with engineers, and perform QA across supported browsers and devices prior to releases.
- Support localization and internationalization needs by designing flexible layouts and typographic systems that accommodate different languages and content lengths.
- Mentor junior designers and run cross-functional design critiques to elevate team standards, review accessibility improvements, and foster a user-centered design culture.
Secondary Functions
- Assist marketing teams with rapid landing page builds and creative adaptations for campaigns, ensuring brand consistency and fast time-to-market.
- Maintain and curate the design asset library and documentation portal so stakeholders and external agencies can find approved templates, assets, and guidelines.
- Run periodic audits of live sites for accessibility, SEO regressions, and performance regressions; compile actionable remediation plans and timelines.
- Support cross-functional usability studies, recruit participants, synthesize qualitative insights, and translate them into prioritized design changes and test hypotheses.
- Provide pre-sales or client-facing design estimates and scope documentation for website redesign proposals and RFP responses.
- Contribute to the product roadmap by proposing web experience improvements, new interactive features, and performance optimizations that align with growth goals.
