Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive client intake and baseline assessments (movement screens, posture analysis, strength and mobility tests, cardiovascular baseline, medical history review) and synthesize findings into personalized, goal-oriented workout programs that prioritize safety and progressive overload.
  • Design periodized training plans for short- and long-term goals (fat loss, hypertrophy, strength, endurance, sport-specific preparation) using evidence-based methodologies and adapting protocols for age, injury history, and comorbidities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions (in-person and remote), delivering clear exercise demonstrations, real-time form corrections, cueing strategies, and modifications to reduce injury risk and improve movement quality.
  • Build templated program frameworks and scalable workflows for remote coaching platforms (TrueCoach, Trainerize, PT Distinction) to standardize client onboarding, progress tracking, and automated deliverables across cohorts.
  • Implement progressive testing protocols and KPI dashboards to quantify client improvement (1RM, rep max curves, VO2 estimates, body composition trends) and translate data into iterative program adjustments.
  • Develop rehabilitation-aware exercise progressions in collaboration with physiotherapists and medical providers, integrating safe modification strategies and clear return-to-play or return-to-activity criteria.
  • Deliver nutrition fundamentals and lifestyle coaching in alignment with exercise programming—calorie adjustments, macronutrient guidance, hydration strategies, sleep hygiene, and recovery protocols—while referring out for advanced nutrition therapy when appropriate.
  • Educate clients on long-term habit formation, adherence strategies, behavior-change techniques (goal setting, motivational interviewing, accountability systems) to maximize retention and outcomes.
  • Lead group training sessions and workshops that teach safe lifting technique, mobility routines, Olympic lifting fundamentals, plyometrics, and sport-specific conditioning in a high-energy, instructional environment.
  • Create and curate multimedia educational content (video demonstrations, exercise libraries, workout templates, progress journals) optimized for client accessibility and SEO across websites and social channels.
  • Audit and optimize existing client programs for performance, progression rates, and consistency with best practices; provide documented recommendations to coaches and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date training protocols for special populations (older adults, prenatal/postpartum, youth athletes, clients with chronic conditions) ensuring compliance with clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for product teams (fitness app, wearable integration) to specify exercise taxonomy, rep/tempo metadata, and user experience flows for program delivery and feedback loops.
  • Manage a caseload of clients including scheduling, billing coordination, progress check-ins, and churn reduction tactics; maintain timely communication across email, in-app messaging, and SMS.
  • Train, mentor, and conduct QA for junior coaches and contractors on program design principles, cueing standards, and client management best practices to ensure consistent service quality.
  • Run structured pilot programs and A/B tests for new training protocols or online offerings, collect participant data, and produce actionable insights for product and business strategy.
  • Prepare pre- and post-program assessments and client-facing reports that highlight measurable gains, next-step recommendations, and renewal/upsell opportunities.
  • Maintain required professional certifications, first-aid/CPR/AED credentials, and continuing education credits; evaluate and implement new research and modalities into standard offerings.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop consultative discovery flows, lead qualification criteria, and program pricing strategies that align with value delivered and conversion goals.
  • Manage risk and liability by enforcing safety policies, maintaining documentation of client interactions, and escalating medical or legal concerns to appropriate parties.
  • Support community-building initiatives (challenges, seminars, corporate wellness partnerships) to increase program adoption, client referrals, and brand visibility.

Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

Minimum Education:
